Who is DJ Kandazar?

Hello, I am DJ Kandazar. I was born in Konya-Eregli, Turkey, and grew up in Vienna, Austria, because when I was three years old, my parents moved with me from Turkey to Vienna. As the creative mind behind TURawstyle, I combine the energy of Hardtechno and Hardstyle with Turkish lyrics, unique vocal techniques, and the soul of Anatolian folkmusic instruments. This blend makes TURawstyle the world’s first subgenre of its kind. Besides TURawstyle, Western Hardstyle and Hardtechno are also part of my repertoire, and my tracks always feature my own lyrics and vocals, both in English and Turkish, because I never use samples or covers from other artists. Every sound is created and produced by myself.

Why did I start working on something like TURawstyle?

Over the years, I noticed that Western Hardstyle and Hardtechno became more and more aggressive, while melodies and harmony almost disappeared, so as a result, many people turned away from these genres. However, I believe the human soul needs harmony, whether we want it or not. This is a deep longing and a basic function of every soul.

For years, I watched this trend, and therefore, I wanted to do something different and create something new that did not exist before. That is how the TURawstyle project started. I developed it over many years in my modest apartment, completely without outside help. During this time, I did a lot of research, read books, and searched online. My goal was to understand the differences between Western and Eastern music cultures – their sounds, instruments, scales, frequencies, and much more. This journey allowed me to teach myself as much as possible.

TURawstyle is a strong answer to this trend.

For me, TURawstyle is hope, a new idea, and a real bridge between East and West. It brings together different cultures and people. This was always the main goal of Hardtechno and Hardstyle. For example, look at the lyrics of many tracks: “Bound Forever,” “Nobody can Stop Us.” It was about being united – where every person, every culture, every religion, and even people without religion become one at festivals. Sadly, this spirit has been forgotten over time.

For me, originality and Real Truth Words and Tellings in my Lyrics from Real Life is the most important.

I build every track from scratch and never use samples from other artists. Every melody, every vocal, and every sound is my own creation, often using Turkish lyrics and vocal techniques. This keeps my music personal and authentic. My wish and goal are that the international festivals, visitors being connected also with the Turkish-Muslim communitys around the World and not only in Western Countrys and Western Cultures, while also achieving global acceptance for TURawstyle. I want to offer something fresh and real to the electronic music scene.

TURawstyle will always stand for true community and unity, because bringing people together in honesty and real truth is its core mission.
